Sumatra

Sumatra was a one touch escape game for mobile devices. It was my first game for mobile devices and utilises a very simple one-touch mechanic.

The player takes the role of an orang-utan escaping from the logging machines which are cutting down tree after tree behind him. He has to decide quickly in which direction to jump to reach the next branch. There is no win state, only a leaderboard on which players can compete with each other. The highscores are made up of the covered distance and the number of bananas collected. The player has to find a good compromise between collecting and spatial progression.
