Udom Nebdon

Udom Nebdon is a very short horror-themed "Alone in the Dark"-alike made in 72 hours during Ludum Dare #32. The the e of the game jam was 'an unconventional weapon'. In Udom Nebdon you are the carrier of a magic mirror making your way through a dark temple to reach its inner sanctum.

Originally, I wanted to use a dithering shader to give the game a nostalgic vibe. This looking too messy, though, so I went with a reduced color palette instead. It was an interesting experience to create a game with static camera perspectives. It turned out to be a challange to implement an imput scheme that works well with the fixed camera angles. Most players struggled with the finicky controls and the slow pace of the game.
